Do you know what this is? It's me posting a Tuesdays With Dorie recipe. On a Tuesday. That's right--I'm finally settled into my (temporary) new job and ready to return to my regularly scheduled baking and blogging. And if that baking and blogging includes more recipes like these Brrr-ownies, I'll be a very happy girl indeed.
These brownies are rich, decadent, and so fudgy that upon taking his first bite, one of my new co-workers looked up at me and asked, "are these brownies or are they fudge?" Lest you think that was a complaint, I'll have you know that when he stopped by my office later that afternoon and I launched into an update on one of our client's cases, he looked at me blankly and said "I'm just here for another brownie." Believe me, I understood. Because the beauty of these brownies is that they are saved from being overwhelmingly rich by the addition of bright refreshing peppermint pieces. I used York Peppermint Patty Pieces, which, lo and behold, the tiny grocery store below my apartment had next to the register. (Side note: these things are delicious and totally addicting. They're basically mint m&ms). The end result? A perfect brownie. A brownie that led said coworker to tell me, just before I left tonight, that if I happen to make any mistakes tomorrow, I could fix them by baking these again.
Thanks to Karen of Welcome to Our Crazy Blessed Life for choosing this recipe, and for totally getting me on the good side of my new co-workers. You can find the recipe on her blog here.

I am glad these were such a hit with your co workers. Had I taken these to work they would have been devoured. That is funny that the guy came by your office just for another brownie. Thanks for baking with me this week!
I wondered how these would turn out with the bites you used. I went to an unusual store and they didn't have anything but the regular patties. I usually take my baked goods to work too and I think people are just waiting for me to get there so they can have something to eat. Oh well, I guess that's not all bad.
These look fantastic!
They look so chocolatey, and fudgey and yummy! Great job!

The M & M mints look much less messy. I'll have to try those.

Your brownies look so good! Glad you co workers enjoyed them. I love the sound of these peppermint bites. I must try and find them!
Its good to know that you have an 'out' at work. If ever you DO do anything wrong, just subtly sliiiide a pan of these onto his desk and run away.
Problem solved, right?
Yes, fudgy brownies are the best! Yours look deeeelicious.
