peppermint chocolate crackle cookies

When winter first arrives, it brings with it a sense of excitement and possibility. A quiet street covered with a dusting of fresh snow. Those cheery, red Starbucks cups. New cashmere sweaters and cozy winter boots. And of course, all sorts of holiday treats. But before long, the holidays are over, those once new boots are spotted with dirt and salt, and there's not a red cup in sight. The only thing that remains? The cold weather. And after a week like the one we just had in New York--a week of frigid temperatures and biting winds, a week where the wonder of the holiday season is a distant memory but the promise of spring still feels oh so far off--a girl needs to do something to break out of the winter rut. So I've decided that if the cold weather insists on sticking around past December, then the holiday treats ought to as well. It's only fair. These minty chocolate crackle cookies are rich, pepperminty, and make the dregs of winter just a little merrier.

WOW Great post! Honestly, if I could sum up how I feel about winter right now in one paragraph, yours would be it. Winter is so endearing for the month of December, but once the holidays are over, winter is AWFUL. And Spring is so far away! *Sadface*

Thanks for trying this recipe! I am so glad that you liked it! And your photo is beautiful!
