My mother is not a baker. Don't get me wrong--she's a fabulous cook and certainly knows her way around a kitchen, but baking is not her specialty. So when she emailed me suggesting we make this pecan tart together for Thanksgiving, I was surprised to say the least.
Surprised but excited. So excited that a few hours after my plane touched down in Minnesota, I had already hauled her old Cuisinart out of storage and turned our kitchen into a whirlwind (read: disaster zone) as we prepped what was now not one, not two, not even three but four desserts for Thanksgiving dinner.
