{twd} pierre hermé's world peace cookies

To say that it has been a tough week in the Sweet Tarte kitchen would be an understatement. I suffered some serious heartbreak of the romantic variety, and was in dire need of some comfort food, preferably of the chocolate variety.

Thankfully, this week's Tuesdays with Dorie recipe was Pierre Hermé's "World Peace Cookies," chosen by Jessica of Cookbookhabit. Dorie's neighbor swears that these cookies are so good, that if everyone ate one daily, world peace would surely follow. Clearly in need of some peace in my own world, I decided that a heaping dose of these cookies was in order.

Sweet, salty, and incredibly chocolaty, they were just what the doctor ordered. (And as you can see from the photo below, they went quickly!) Though I can't say that these cookies will mend a broken heart, they will certainly make having one a little easier to swallow.

Be sure to check out the Tuesdays with Dorie Blogroll to see what the other members have cooked up this week. The recipe for the World Peace Cookies is available on Jessica's blog, or on page 138 of Dorie's book.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear of your broken heart, but I do know that the World Peace cookies are good for whatever ails you! We've had some drama in the Dogs Eat the Crumbs kitchen, too, and I didn't even get to make the cookies - luckily I'd already baked them in the summer so I could post. But now I really am craving a WP cookie!! Yours look great.

Broken hearts need the best of care. Little indulgences like cookies, some tea, some phone calls to friends, a good dinner... take care of yourself!

I'm sorry about your broken heart! These cookies should help. When I had a devastating break-up many years ago, a friend gave me the book "Blue Jelly" by Debby Bull. It's a small memoir/cookbook that will give you a reason to smile and some recipes to boot. Hope you feel better soon!
